Repurposing. Recycling. What a great idea! Why would you throw something away when you could do a couple of things to it and reuse it for something else? It not only saves waste, it creates a unique product that you can use, gift, or even sell. These lovely little glass canisters used to be glass milk jugs (as you can see in the picture above). With the help from a little purple and sage green spray paint, and some painter's tape and chalkboard paint, they became my loose leaf tea and coffee bean canisters for my kitchen - a lovely little splash of color for my countertop!

The process was simple really - I lightly sanded the glass bottles, just to create a little abrasiveness to make the paint adhere better to the glass. I put two coats of Rustoleum Painter's Touch spray paint on each canister, purple and sage green. Then after that dried, I taped off a rectangular shape on the front of the canister and painted that area with Rustoleum chalkboard paint. (Side note: I would recommend their can of paint as opposed to the spray paint. I had a friend try the spray paint and said she didn't like it as well.)
